For the last decade the Cormack Innovation Awards have been regarded as one of the most practical industrial design awards in Australia. The Awards are unique in their ability to bring together industrial design students from across Australia with leading brand owners and packaging specialists.

Judged by senior industry representatives working in FMCG, beverage, chemical cleaning and pharmaceutical companies, the same people that one day will be commissioning designs from these students in the commercial world, students are given the opportunity to share their design vision with a chance to take on a prestigious internship with Cormack Packaging and have their design commercialised for market application.

The Awards are open to 3rd year Industrial Design Students currently studying in Australia from a variety of tertiary and TAFE institutions.

As well as cash prizes, Finalists receive widespread publicity in local papers, industry publications and websites. In 2009 Cormack Packaging joined with the Australian Institute of Packaging to offer in addition to the Cormack Innovation Award, a scholarship for a student to continue their studies in the specialised field of Packaging Development.

The success of the Cormack Innovation Awards continues to grow with the number of students participating in the program growing at an expediential rate.

The awards culminate in the Presentation Night which is held in Sydney in October. Top 20 designs will be displayed and these students will have the opportunity to meet and discuss their designs with senior industry members, government representatives, past winners and other students.
