Slide 1 2010 Design Entry Requirements

The following criteria must be addressed and will be judges on:

1.  1.Each submission must clearly identify an existing problem and briefly discuss research related to the issue. 2.

2. The submission must show the rationale behind how the design resolves the identified problem. 3.

3. The design may contain an unlimited number of components with at least one component of the finished design injection molded from a plastic resin. For example PP, LDPE, HDPE or PET. 4.

4. The design must show reasonable consideration for the production process required to manufacture the product 5.

5. Each submission must show that they have considered the new packages in relation to:  

  • Innovation
  • Manufacturing Process  
  • Values and Benefits to the Customer and Consumer
  • Environmental Issues  

  (Refer to Judging Criteria for detailed description and weighting)

6.  6.Each design must be the original work of the entrant, have been designed in Australia, and should not knowingly infringe on any current patents. Patent searches will be completed on all designs submitted. 7.

7. Each submission must be provided in a soft copy compressed file format (PDF) on single data CD, clearly labeled with the students registration number only.

8.8. Each entry must be labeled with the designers entry registration number and have no reference to the designers name or university. An entry registration number will be generated once an entry form is submitted. 9.

9. Although each design should clearly show what product has been chosen is, there should be no specific reference to Brand or Manufacturer. 10.

10. Designs must be submitted and clearly received by Cormack Packaging Pty Ltd by COB (5pm) Wednesday 22nd September 2010. Any submissions received after this time cannot be considered for judging.
