2009 Cormack Innovation Awards

Cormack Packaging is proud to announce the 2009 Cormack Innovation Awards.

Now in their 8th year of celebration, the Cormack Innovation Awards are regarded as one of the premier student industrial design awards in Australia. The Awards focus on bringing together the collective talent of local young designers and providing practical application with Cormack Innovation ‘University program’.

2009 marks a new and exciting phase for the Cormack Innovation Awards, with Cormack Packaging joining together with the Australian Institute of Packaging to announce the creation of the ‘Australian Institute of Packaging Scholarship in Packaging Technology’. The scholarship is aimed at providing additional educational support for students looking to increase their skills for a career within the packaging industry. On announcing the partnership with the AIP Mathew Cormack, Cormack Packaging Managing Director said

“The partnership between Cormack Packaging and the Australian Institute of Packaging marks a new era for the Cormack Innovation Awards and is a fantastic opportunity for the Awards to really grow in stature, provide increased exposure for both the industry and for these talented student designers and to reinforce the importance of Packaging education within the industry.

We view the affiliation with the AIP as a testament to the increased importance of providing a gateway of education and opportunity for young industrial designers into the packaging industry, reinforcing the Cormack Innovation Universities program that we have implemented for the last 7 years.”

Entries for the 2009 Awards are open to all 3rd year Industrial design students currently studying in Australia. A gala awards ceremony is scheduled for Customs House in Sydney on Wednesday 28th of October where the winner of both the Cormack Innovation Award 2009 and the AIP scholarship recipient will be announced before an audience of industry, academia and dignitaries.
